Andhra govt allots land
Andhra Pradesh Municipal Minister P Narayana on Monday said land has allotted to 10 institutions in Amaravati after the 18th Cabinet Sub-Committee
Andhra Pradesh Municipal Minister P Narayana on Monday said land has allotted to 10 institutions in Amaravati after the 18th Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting held at the Secretariat.
Narayana said four earlier allotments were revised—2 acres each for Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Geological Survey of India (GSI), five acres for State Forensic Lab, and three acres for AP Cooperative Bank.
"So far, 884 acres have been allotted to 64 institutions, and today, allotments were completed for another 10 institutions, said Narayana in an official press release, adding that the institutions that received land would begin construction as early as possible.
Six new institutions received land: two acres each to the Income Tax Department, Andhra Pradesh Grameena Bank, and BJP office while 0.4 acres to Central Bank of India and 0.5 acres each to Intelligence Bureau and Bureau of Immigration.
Land allotments to Gas Authority Of India Limited (GAIL) India and Ambika Agarbatti were cancelled, as they failed to act on earlier allocations made between 2014 and 2019.
The Minister accused the previous YSRCP government's three capitals plan for scaring away institutions from Amaravati during the earlier allotment phase.
The state is actively reviewing previous land allotments and reclaiming land from parties that have been inactive to reassign it to functioning institutions, he said.
Over 10,000 workers are already involved in Amaravati works, and the number will rise to 20,000 once rains reduce, Narayana assured.
