Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday marked the first year of the TDP-led government exhorting all public representatives and officials to commit to SwarnaAndhra@2047 for achieving a wealthy, healthy and happy state.
Several months ago, the CM launched SwarnaAndhra@2047 vision, in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Viksit Bharat (developed India) initiative with a target GSDP of USD 2.4 trillion by 2047.
“Ultimately, together we become wealthy, healthy, happy Andhra Pradesh. That is our goal. It is possible. All of us have to rededicate to it,” said Naidu, addressing a large meeting of MLAs, MPs and officials.
He directed officials to strive for a 15 per cent growth rate to meet these goals.
The CM lauded officials for their terrific job in the past one year.
According to Naidu, it is the responsibility of the government to fulfil the aspirations of the people. The NDA governments at the Centre and in the state with ‘double engine sarkar (govt)’ have demonstrated that it is ‘possible’.
Slamming the previous YSRCP government, Naidu alleged that it left the state in financial distress.
He credited the Centre for its support to revive the Vizag Steel Plant (VSP) through a Rs 11,400 crore package, people’s capital Amaravati with an aid of Rs 15,000 crore, and the Polavaram project with Rs 12,500 crore.
Acknowledging that not everything was accomplished in the first year itself, he said the government has exceeded its expectations.
Noting the smooth functioning of NDA alliance of TDP, BJP and Janasena, he thanked Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan and Andhra Pradesh BJP head D Purandeswari.
Reaffirming his government's commitment to its promises, he highlighted that the southern state logged 11.5 per cent growth in food grains production from 143 lakh tonnes in 2023 – 24 to 159 lakh tonnes in 2024 – 25, along with a drop in inflation to 4.4 per cent.
Further, Naidu said the government inked investments worth Rs 9.3 lakh crore in 11 months with the potential to create 8.5 lakh jobs, besides clocking a rebound in exports.
Andhra Pradesh is targeting a GSDP of Rs 18.6 lakh crore in fiscal 2025-26, he said adding that a quantum valley and Artificial University at Amaravati, MedTech Zone at Vizag and drone city in Orvakal as strategic initiatives.
Naidu urged all stakeholders to contribute to this collective mission.
