Sharmila Slams Jagan: “One Face in Power, Another in Opposition”

APCC chief YS Sharmila Reddy launched a scathing attack on former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during her district tour, accusing him of hypocrisy and failing the people of Andhra Pradesh.

Leading a rally from Aakuthota Tribal Colony to Indira Bhavan, she paid tribute to her father YSR’s statue and addressed the media. Referring to the death of Singhaiah during Jagan’s visit, she criticized Jagan for standing on a moving vehicle and calling it a fake video, calling it irresponsible and insensitive.

“Jagan ignored the public when in power but now tries to mobilize crowds. He acts without accountability,” she said. Sharmila questioned his silence in the Assembly, the Rushikonda land scandal, and the unfulfilled liquor ban promise.

She accused Jagan of siding with the BJP and big corporates like Adani and Ambani, claiming he supported every bill in Parliament. “The BJP has betrayed Andhra Pradesh for 15 years. Not a single MP is demanding Polavaram be built to 45 meters,” she said.

Sharmila also criticized the failure to implement free bus travel for women, reduction in farmer beneficiaries, and delayed pensions for SC/ST/BC communities.

In a symbolic moment, she garlanded YSR’s statue at Gandhi Bomma Center but reportedly forgot to acknowledge Mahatma Gandhi’s statue beside it, sparking brief political chatter.
