Actor Srikanth (Sriram) Remanded to 14-Day Judicial Custody in Drug Case

Actor Srikanth, popularly known as Sriram, has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody by a Chennai court in connection with a drug trafficking case.

Actor Srikanth, popularly known as Sriram, has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody by a Chennai court in connection with a drug trafficking case. The arrest follows an extensive eight-hour interrogation by the Nungambakkam police, during which significant evidence was reportedly uncovered linking the actor to a wider drug network.

According to sources, the investigation gained momentum following a brawl last month at a bar in Nungambakkam. On Monday, the police arrested and questioned several individuals, including AIADMK leaders Prasad and Ajay Vandaiyar from Mylapore. Following allegations of drug consumption, the suspects revealed details about the source and supply chain of the narcotics.

The interrogation led to Pradeep Kumar, a key suspect in a cocaine supply case, who confessed that Prasad had supplied drugs to actor Srikanth through him. The police confirmed that Srikanth had purchased cocaine, with digital payment records as proof.

After collecting this information, police took Srikanth into custody on Monday and conducted medical tests. His blood sample tested positive for drug use, confirming narcotics consumption.

Srikanth, who rose to fame in Telugu cinema with the film ‘Rojapoolu’, went on to act in several notable films such as ‘Okariki Okaru’, ‘Aadavari Matalaku Arthale Verule’, ‘Maska’, ‘Rama Rama Krishna Krishna’, ‘Kandireega’, and ‘Bhale Manchi Roju’. He has also appeared in the popular web series ‘Harikatha’.
