Kuberaa has made an impressive start at the box office, breathing new life into theatres after a lull. Day 1 saw housefull shows across major centres, with occupancy in Hyderabad exceeding 80%, particularly strong in the Nizam region. While it’s early to measure long-term success, the positive response has energized exhibitors and boosted confidence among AP buyers.

Though Dhanush headlines the film, it’s Nagarjuna who has caught audience attention. His decision to take on a key role in a film not centered on him intrigued fans—and director Shekhar Kammula delivered by placing several major narrative pivots around Nagarjuna’s character.

He plays Deepak, a former CBI officer, with calm authority and maturity. While his screen presence matches Dhanush’s in weight and duration, the lack of mass elevation scenes left a section of fans wanting more.

Nagarjuna clarified that his choice was driven purely by the story, not stardom or screen space. It’s consistent with his past decisions—supporting strong concepts in films like Adhipathi, Krishnarjuna, and Ninne Premistha, even in non-lead roles. However, Kuberaa is being seen as a more refined outing.
