Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh has come to the aid of a poor student, making his dream of studying at IIT Lucknow a reality. Responding to a plea on social media, Lokesh pledged to cover the student’s course fees, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder his education.
Basavayya, hailing from Attili village in West Godavari district, recently secured a seat at IIT Lucknow. However, the hefty course fee of Rs 4 lakhs posed a significant challenge for his family, who survive on daily wage labor. Faced with the prospect of dropping out, Basavayya turned to social media for help.
In a heartfelt tweet to Minister Nara Lokesh on the X platform, Basavayya explained his predicament and sought assistance. His plea caught the minister’s attention, prompting Lokesh to retweet with a promise of support. “Basavayya, you will study in IIT Lucknow. Your dream will come true. I will take care of your fees. I wish you all the best,” Lokesh assured.
