The Andhra Pradesh State government, in a bid to bolster infrastructure and enhance connectivity, is eyeing the establishment of a new airport in Anantapur, close to Bangalore. Union Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu has indicated that the proposal is under consideration pending the availability of suitable land. He emphasized that approximately 1,200 acres would be required for the airport’s development. The initiative gained momentum following requests from Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav, along with MPs Ambika Lakshminarayana and BK Parthasarathy. Their appeal highlighted the strategic importance of an airport in facilitating the export of horticultural products, thereby potentially boosting the region’s economic landscape
