Amaravati: June 23: The Telugu Film Industry is once again coming to the audience with Rs 600 crore big-budget cinema ‘Kalki 2898’ from the prestigious production house Vyjayanthi movies which is planned to release in theatres across the world on June 27.
After the Bahubali movie, the Telugu industry produced a mega movie with super stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Hassan, and Prabhas in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi languages. The movie created a huge buzz in the audience when the film director, Nag Ashwin, who is also the son-in-law of Ashwini Dutt, directed the movie. He got good recognition for his directed ‘Mahanti’ Movie on the life story of legendary actress Savitri in the past.
In this backdrop, the Telangana government has announced some relaxations in favour of the movie. The Telangana government has permitted the film producers to increase the ticket price up to a maximum of Rs 100 on each ticket. As per the government orders, the ticket prices can be increased to Rs 70 in normal theatres and Rs 100 for multi-plexes. The Telangana government also provided relaxations for benefit shows and extra shows for the first week after the movie release.
However, there is curiosity about the encouragement plans of the AP government for the film industry. The previous government led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy created hardships for producers and owners of theatres at the time of the movie’s release. Then the State government did not give any additional encouragement permission to producers. Moreover, the revenue staff were posted for the first time at the theaters to regulate ticket sales and other operations. It was a painful experience for several prominent film personalities like Chiranjeevi and his team. They had to meet the then Chief Minister for movies to be released without hiccups in Andhra Pradesh.
Now there is a debate in the political and film industry circles as to how Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will extend support for a big-budget movie that will be presenting screens in Andhra Pradesh too. Of course, producer Ashwini Dutt is also a sympathiser of the TDP but the matters is related to the industry encouragement policy of the new government.
Post-release mega function in Amaravati: Moreover, the producer is a native of Vijayawada and he extended possible support for Amaravati. He has also planned to organise a movie success meet in the AP’s capital location Amaravati in August as part of his emotional connection with Andhra Pradesh and its capital.
