The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) 2024 began smoothly on Saturday, with no untoward incidents reported, according to Health Ministry officials. A command center to monitor the examination has been set up at the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) headquarters in Delhi.

The exam for foreign medical graduates is scheduled to be held at 71 centers in 50 cities across 21 states. The exam will occur in two shifts — 9 am to 11.30 am and 2 pm to 4.30 pm. There are 255 appraisers appointed for the 71 centers, 53 faculty members serving as a flying squad, and 71 members nominated by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) to visit the exam centers. Additionally, 42 NBEMS staff members have been deployed at the centers, with 35,819 candidates scheduled to take the exam on Saturday.

A command center has been established at the NBEMS headquarters in Dwarka, where the governing body members, NBEMS officials, technical team members, and senior police officers are monitoring the progress of the examination. Each test center is being monitored through a live CCTV feed, and a ground team of TCS officials are addressing operational and logistics issues at the test centers.
