Several senior IPS officers in Andhra Pradesh have reportedly been sidelined by the current NDA alliance government, leading to an unexpected setback. The Andhra Pradesh director general of police (DGP) has issued memos to these senior officers, many of whom have been left without postings and are now required to remain at the DGP office during working hours.
According to the orders, the senior IPS officers, including those of additional DGP and IG rank, have been instructed to stay at the DGP office from 10 AM until evening and to sign an attendance register before leaving for home.
This directive applies to all 16 senior IPS officers who are currently without assignments, including PSSR Anjaneyulu, Sunil Kumar, Sanjay, Kanthirana, Kolli Raghurami Reddy, Ammireddy, Vijay Rao, Vishal Gunni, Ravi Shankar Reddy, Rishant Reddy, Raghuveera Reddy, Parameshwar Reddy, Joshua, Krishnakanth Patel, and Palaraju. The move has raised eyebrows, particularly as it is seen as an attempt to keep these officers on a short leash.
