Fans of Jr NTR were eagerly anticipating a major update on the highly anticipated NTR–Prashanth Neel collaboration to mark the star’s birthday on May 20. However, the excitement turned into disappointment as the makers officially confirmed that no new content would be released on that day.
In a statement shared via the official NTRNeel handle on Saturday, the team wrote:
“Dear fans, we know how eager you are to celebrate the man who’s given us countless reasons to cheer. With the War2 content releasing, we felt it is best to give it its moment and save the NTRNeel mass missile glimpse for later.”
The decision to delay the update reportedly stems from a strategic move to avoid clashing with the promotional content of War 2, another major action drama in which Jr NTR plays a significant role. With War 2 slated for a global release this August and a teaser expected on May 20, director Prashanth Neel is said to have decided to let War 2 take the spotlight.
While fans understand the logic behind the decision, many took to social media to express their disappointment, urging the makers to at least unveil a first-look poster to reignite buzz around the project. Since the film’s announcement, there has been no official visual update, leading some to feel that the film is losing visibility.
Tentatively titled Dragon, the film is being directed by KGF creator Prashanth Neel and marks his first collaboration with Jr NTR. The high-octane action drama is currently being filmed in interior regions of Karnataka, and Jr NTR joined the shoot on April 22.
Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Dragon promises a mass-packed cinematic experience on a grand scale, blending high drama, powerful action, and Neel’s signature intensity. While plot details remain tightly under wraps, the film is being positioned as a pan-India spectacle in the vein of KGF and Salaar.
Despite the delayed update, anticipation remains sky-high. With both War 2 and Dragon on the horizon, Jr NTR fans have plenty to look forward to in the months ahead.
