Mila Kunis has been announced as a new cast member in the upcoming third “Knives Out” film directed by Rian Johnson. According to entertainment news outlet Variety, Kunis will join the star-studded cast of the Netflix film, which will see Daniel Craig reprise his role as the renowned sleuth Benoit Blanc. In addition to Kunis, the film has also added Jeremy Renner, known for his role in the Marvel movies. This will be Renner’s first film since his snowplow accident in early 2023. The two actors will be joining Craig, alongside Josh O’Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, and Glenn Close. The film, titled “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery,” is the third installment in the “Knives Out” franchise, which Johnson started with 2019’s “Knives Out” and followed with “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” in 2022. Plot details are still under wraps, but Johnson and Craig have teased that “Wake Up Dead Man” will be Blanc’s “most dangerous case yet.” According to Netflix, the film promises to be another thrilling and intricate mystery, following the success of its predecessors. Production is set to begin next month, with a release date scheduled for 2025 on Netflix. After the box office and critical success of “Knives Out” in 2019, the streaming platform took over the franchise from MRC and Lionsgate.
