Ratan Kumar Kesh, the executive director and chief operating officer of Bandhan Bank, has been appointed as the interim MD & CEO of the private lender, effective from July 10. The current MD & CEO and founder of the bank will retire on July 9. According to a regulatory filing with the stock exchange on Saturday, Kesh will serve as the interim MD & CEO for a period of three months or until the new incumbent takes charge, whichever comes earlier.
Kesh’s appointment is in line with the approval of the Reserve Bank of India and is based on the recommendation of the nomination and remuneration committee, as well as the board of directors of the bank, at its meeting held during the day.
The filing also states that Kesh is not debarred or disqualified from holding the office of director by virtue of any order of the SEBI or any other such authority. It is important to note that the appointment of Kesh is subject to the approval of the bank’s shareholders.
Kesh has been the executive director and chief operating officer of Bandhan Bank since March 2023 and has previously worked with ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Yes Bank, and Axis Bank.
