HIT 3 Music Director Reacts to ‘Background Score’ Criticism
Mickey J Meyer is one of the popular music composers in the Telugu film industry, who has many successful films under his belt. He is undeniably a supremely talented composer in the industry. However, a section of people criticised his work for his recent film, HIT: The Third Case, by using harsh words, which didn’t go well with Mickey.
Immediately, he took to social media to condemn the words of those critics. He said that the choice of words some reviewers are using inadvertently portrays themselves in a poor light.
He tweeted, “A very senior technician complained when he heard Happy days score. he said, what is this garbage, just 1 guitar, 1 piano here and there,( trust me, you could elevate a lot of scenes in happy days like nobody’s business more than what i did ) to the extent that they could have replaced the whole score. that was 18 years ago and i knew he was outdated in his template idea of a score. I get the same feeling now with #hit3 score. It’s a strange feeling.”
“I feel great things coming my way! criticism will always be there,But the choice of words some reviewers are using inadvertently portrays themselves in a poor light. I am of a different mindset. I take risks, which pays off, maybe not always,, make no mistake, the Score in Hit3 is successful in supporting the movie and is instrumental in the success of the movie, But not in ways some people are used to. Scene elevation is by far the easiest part of a score, Sailesh did not want over the top score, it took me a while to understand his vision,, But Everyone cannot like your work. i will do what i can do.Not defending myself. Sometimes it is important to express your thoughts.( i rarely do ) but it’s time for me to go back into quietness and do my job silently,” he added.
