The Telangana government has announced plans to establish the ‘Young India Sports University’ in the region. This university, a key addition to the sports ecosystem, aims to bolster the sports hub, according to an official release on Saturday. The government is currently considering either the existing sports school in Hakimpet or the Sports complex in Gachibowli as potential locations for the Young India Sports University.

During a recent visit to South Korea, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy also toured the Korean National Sports University in Seoul. South Korea’s success in the Paris Olympics, where they won 32 medals, 16 of which were secured by athletes trained at the Korean National Sports University, was highlighted during the visit.

The government plans to collaborate with renowned universities to serve as technical partners for the Young India Sports University, aiming to transform it into a world-class institution dedicated to training future Olympic champions.
