Tripura’s former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma was inaugurated as Telangana Governor on Wednesday. The event was attended by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, his Cabinet colleagues, Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy, and several senior officials. The oath was administered by Alok Aradhe, Chief Justice of Telangana High Court.
Prior to the ceremony, Varma received a ceremonial welcome at the airport, joined by Revanth Reddy, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, DGP Jitender, and others. In his message to the people, Varma promised to uphold principles of fairness, integrity, and impartiality, ensuring the respect of democratic processes and Constitutional mandates.
Hailing from Tripura, Varma expressed his commitment to serving the diverse cultures and rich heritage of Telangana. Varma congratulated the Telangana government, particularly recognizing Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and emphasized the importance of education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and continued support and innovation in the agricultural sector. He commended the state government’s initiative to waive crop loans up to two lakh for all farmer families, highlighting the relief it provides to hardworking farmers.
Furthermore, Varma expressed his deep commitment to promoting inclusivity and social justice, emphasizing the importance of providing opportunities for success irrespective of individuals’ backgrounds.
