Actor Manchu Manoj has opened up about a deeply personal chapter in his life and how Powerstar Pawan Kalyan stood by him during those trying times.

After his separation from Pranati Reddy, Manoj retreated from the public eye for a period. It was later revealed that he had been living in an ashram in Rishikesh. Upon returning to Hyderabad, he married Mounika Reddy, the elder daughter of late politician Bhuma Nagi Reddy. Despite the marriage, Manoj remained distant from films and eventually relocated to Chennai.

In a recent interview, the Vedam actor recalled how Pawan Kalyan reached out to him with genuine concern during that phase.

“When Pawan anna heard there were issues at home, he personally called to check on me. He asked how I was doing, why I had disappeared, and what I was up to. I told him I had moved to Chennai because Mounika came into my life and I was facing a few challenges in Hyderabad. I felt that a change of place might help,” Manoj shared.

“He told me not to worry and said, ‘Whenever you come to Chennai, make sure to meet me.’ That meant a lot. He always encouraged me to return to Telugu cinema. In fact, he was the first to stand by me and support me. I’ve never shared this publicly before,” he added.

Manoj also recalled a candid moment with Pawan Kalyan during the shoot of Bheemla Nayak. “He invited me to the set. We had a long chat. He even chided me for putting on weight and encouraged me to get back in shape. That’s the kind of bond we share.”

On the Work Front

Manoj is all set to return to the big screen with his upcoming sci-fi film Mirai, where he plays the antagonist. The film, known for its visual spectacle and adventurous storyline, is slated for a theatrical release in September this year.
