Telugu superstars Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, and Allu Arjun have made generous donations to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) to support rehabilitation efforts in the landslide-hit Wayanad district in Kerala.
The death toll from the catastrophic landslide, which occurred in the early hours of July 30, has risen to 219, according to the state government.
Chiranjeevi expressed his anguish over the loss of life and announced that he and his son, Ram Charan, would be donating Rs 1 crore to the CMDRF to aid the victims of the Wayanad tragedy.
Similarly, Allu Arjun also extended his support by donating ₹25 lakh to the Kerala CM Relief Fund, emphasizing his desire to contribute to the state that has always shown him immense love.
Notably, Malayalam cinema veteran Mohanlal, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army, visited Wayanad in his Army uniform and pledged Rs 3 crore for the rehabilitation works in the disaster-struck region.
Various other film personalities including Kamal Haasan, Suriya, Jyotika, Karthi, Vikram, Nayanthara, Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaan, Fahadh Faasil, Nazriya, and Tovino Thomas have also generously contributed to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) to aid the relief and rehabilitation efforts.
