Hollywood stars Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes are confirmed cast members for “28 Years Later”, the sequel to the 2002 zombie movie “28 Days Later”. Filmmakers Danny Boyle and Alex Garland are teaming up for the project, which will launch a trilogy, according to entertainment news outlet Variety. Boyle will direct the first movie in the trilogy, based on a script penned by Garland. The duo, along with original producer Andrew Macdonald and Peter Rice, will also produce the project. However, details of the characters to be played by Comer, Taylor-Johnson and Fiennes have not been revealed yet. The original film “28 Days Later” starred Cillian Murphy and followed the story of a man who wakes up from a coma to discover that London and the rest of the world have been destroyed by a virus that turns people into zombie-like creatures. A sequel, “28 Weeks Later”, depicted the efforts of military forces to salvage a safe zone in London, but the virus is reintroduced after two young siblings break protocol to find their mother. Jodie Comer, known for her role in “Killing Eve”, will be next seen in the period motorcycle drama “The Bikeriders”. Aaron Taylor-Johnson will appear in “The Fall Guy” alongside Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, and he is also headlining the upcoming Marvel feature “Kraven the Hunter”. Ralph Fiennes most recently starred in “The Menu” and the James Bond movie “No Time to Die”.
