Veteran TDP Leader Sugavasi Palakonda Rayudu Passes Away at 80

Sugavasi Palakonda Rayudu, a senior leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and former Member of Parliament, passed away at the age of 80 due to health complications. He died at a private hospital in Bengaluru around 3:00 a.m. today, while undergoing treatment, according to his family.

Palakonda Rayudu had been dealing with health issues for the past two days, prompting his family to admit him to a hospital in Bengaluru for better medical care. Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated during treatment, leading to his passing. His death has deeply affected the Rayachoti constituency, where he was well-known and respected.

A veteran politician, Palakonda Rayudu was elected four times as a Member of the Legislative Assembly from Rayachoti and once as a Member of Parliament from the Rajampet constituency. Over the years, he served as a public representative during the tenures of chief ministers Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, and Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, leaving a significant mark on the political scene.

The news of his passing has left TDP cadres and supporters in mourning. State ministers Mandipalli Ram Prasad Reddy and BC Janardhan Reddy expressed their heartfelt condolences, describing his death as an irreplaceable loss not only to his family but also to the people of Rayachoti and TDP activists. They fondly remembered his deep connection with the people of Rayachoti and offered prayers for his soul to rest in peace.
