The NDA government at the center has delivered more positive news to the coalition government in AP today. The government has announced its commitment to supporting several development projects in the state through the central budget.

In a significant move, the government has approved an allocation of Rs. 7226 crore for national highway works in AP for the current financial year. This funding will be administered by the National Highways Authority of India. The Union Ministry of Surface Transport has released the annual plan for national highway construction projects to be undertaken across the country in the current financial year.

The details of approved funds for national highway works in each state have been disclosed. Following Maharashtra, Bihar, and UP, the central government has agreed to allocate a substantial sum of Rs. 7226 crores for AP.

The release of these funds has been authorized based on proposals received by the National Highways Authority. The center has designated an allocation of Rs. 71112 crore for all 17 states to be utilized for Category One national highway projects. Notably, Maharashtra has been allotted the highest funds of Rs. 19023 crore, followed by Bihar, UP, and AP. Furthermore, funds of Rs. 5650 crore have been assigned to Telangana, among other Category 2 states.
