Andhra Pradesh: Two-Year-Old Dies of Bird Flu After Eating Raw Chicken

A child has died from bird flu in Andhra Pradesh. The incident occurred in Narasaraopet, Palnadu district. A two-year-old girl became ill after eating raw chicken and passed away while undergoing treatment. Although this event is concerning for the state, officials have stated that there is no need for alarm.

The girl fell ill on March 4, and her parents took her to AIIMS in Mangalagiri. She died on March 16 during her treatment. Recent tests confirmed that she was infected with the H5N1 bird flu virus. It is reported that while she was cutting chicken, she put a small piece into her mouth, and she began showing symptoms shortly after consuming the meat. This incident highlights the potential for the bird flu virus to transmit to humans.
