In a significant move to tackle the growing menace of ganja and drug trafficking in Andhra Pradesh, inspector general of police (IGP) Ake Ravi Krishna has been appointed as the special officer for the creation of the Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF).
This appointment, aimed at strengthening the State’s efforts in combating drug-related crimes, is effective immediately. The decision follows Ake Ravi Krishna’s repatriation from Central deputation, upon which he reported back to duty.
As special officer, Ake Ravi Krishna will be responsible for overseeing the establishment and operationalization of the ANTF, which will focus on eradicating the illegal cultivation, trafficking, and distribution of narcotics, particularly ganja, across the State.
