TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu recently announced plans to create a declaration for the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Muslim communities in the state of Andhra Pradesh. This declaration is meant to transform the future of these communities, similar to the BC declaration Naidu made recently in the run-up to the polls. Naidu promised to offer welfare pensions to those from backward classes who have completed 50 years of age and under the sub-plan, each eligible person will receive Rs 1.5 lakh in five years.

He also promised 34 per cent reservation for BCs in local bodies and vowed that TDP will fight for their reservation in the legislative bodies. Furthermore, Naidu assured a separate legislation for the safety and security of BCs and also promised to spend Rs 5,000 crore under a scheme called ‘Adharana,’ among other promises. Naidu claimed that the NDA (comprising TDP, BJP, and Janasena) will come to power in the state and at the Centre.

. He also noted that Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan was present during his address and came to instill confidence among people who were facing many problems under the alleged anarchic rule of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. Naidu observed that several financial dues were pending for police personnel and extended his condolences to the family of the SPF constable who shot himself to death in Visakhapatnam on Thursday due to financial difficulties. He also promised all possible measures would be taken for the welfare of downtrodden sections of society. Assembly and Lok Sabha elections will be held simultaneously in Andhra Pradesh on May 13.
