BJP MP Tejasvi Surya has alleged that the Congress party poses the biggest threat to the Constitution and reservations. He made these comments while campaigning in Telangana in support of BJP candidates for the Lok Sabha polls. Surya accused the Congress of being a threat to Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution by citing various incidents.
He mentioned how the Congress carried out the first Amendment and imposed Emergency without any proper debate in Parliament. He also highlighted how the party abused Constitutional provision of Article 356 repeatedly.
Surya further claimed that the Congress wants to bring reservation for Muslims by taking away the reservation for OBCs, SCs, and STs. According to him, the Congress is conspiring to remove the reservations given to OBCs, SCs, and STs to appease its vote bank.
He called on the Congress to clarify its stance on Muslim reservations and whether it is willing to take away from the OBCs to give reservations for the Muslims. Surya said that the Congress is not only a threat to the Constitution but also to the rightful reservations that Babasaheb Ambedkar has envisaged for the upliftment of the OBCs, SCs, and STs. These remarks came in response to Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, who have accused the BJP of wanting to change the Constitution and abolish reservations during the ongoing election campaign.
