My favourite bowler is Bumrah: MS Dhoni

Legendary cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni named Jasprit Bumrah as his favorite bowler without choosing between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as his preferred batsman. Bumrah played a crucial role in India’s recent T20 World Cup victory, taking 15 wickets in eight matches with an economy rate of 4.17, the best among regular bowlers in the tournament. As a result, Bumrah was awarded the player of the tournament.

Dhoni mentioned that it’s easy to choose his favorite bowler because of Bumrah’s performances but refrained from picking a favorite batsman due to the many talented options. Bumrah has been given a break following the World Cup, and he is not participating in the current away white-ball series against Sri Lanka.

Dhoni explained that it’s challenging to select one batsman as his favorite because all the batters deliver outstanding performances.

He emphasized the team’s success as his priority and expressed a hope for the batters to continue scoring runs for the team. When asked about his IPL future, Dhoni stated that he will make a decision based on the best interests of the team once the rules and regulations regarding player retention are formalized.

Currently, IPL teams are dealing with various issues such as the mega auction rules and the ‘Impact Player’ rule. BCCI secretary Jay Shah mentioned having had a “constructive dialogue” with IPL team owners on several subjects, and these matters will be further discussed by the IPL Governing Council led by Arun Dhumal.
