Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that the late former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s model of welfare was not in Andhra Pradesh. He visited YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s memorial at Idupulapaya on Saturday. Later, he campaigned for the candidature of APCC president YS Sharmila.
Addressing the large gathering, he said that YS Rajasekhar Reddy was like the brother of late Rajiv Gandhi. Rajasekhar Reddy inspired him to conduct the Bharat Jodo Yatra. He also recalled that Rajasekhar Reddy told him to conduct padayatra.
He criticised Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for supporting the BJP. He said that the Congress would fulfill all the promises which were assured to Andhra Pradesh in the Bifucation Act. Rahul Gandhi said that late Rajasekhar Reddy worked against the ideology of BJP. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy did not make a single comment against the BJP so far, he added.
He said that the YSR Congress, TDP and Jana Sena were working under the control of BJP led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The CBI and the ED were controlling the leaders of all the parties in Andhra Pradesh. He asked the public whether they had fulfilled Polavaram, Kadapa Steel Factory, and other promises.
He requested the people to extend their support to Sharmila who is the real successor of YS Rajasekhar Reddy and sister to him. The Congress would provide free education and also jobs.
