Amaravati: The candidates and important leaders of NDA which include TDP, BJP, and Jana Sena are in an anxious mood in their demand for the transfer of government top officials. Already the TDP, BJP and Jana Sena made several complaints against the officials like the Chief Secretary, the DGP, and the Intelligence Chief.
The Election Commission has not taken any action though the complaints are pending with it. Already the Election Commission transferred several officials like IAS and IPS officers along with the chief of a special investigation team.
Indeed, the parties of NDA filed complaints in writing to the highest authority of the election process. The leaders of NDA parties are seriously debating on the transfer of some more officials. They opine that without transferring the highest officials of the state government it is impossible to conduct the elections in a peaceful atmosphere.
The second-rung leaders of NDA parties regularly inform the ground-level situation to their respective party leaderships, especially the TDP which has already started a war room in its party central office to monitor the field-level incidents.
Still, the NDA leaders are facing severe assaults from the ruling party. Moreover, the stone attack on the Chief Minister created more worry for them. The activists of the YSR Congress were taken into custody when attending the TDP meetings with stones.
Already several incidents have happened as the irate activists of YSR Congress are trying to attack the TDP leaders including TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu. In this backdrop, the NDA candidates are demanding the Election Commission to change the higher officials. Otherwise, election-related violence may escalate, said TDP politburo member Varla Ramaiah. He further said that still, the YSR Congress is still assaulting the TDP activists with the support of police officials.
TDP official spokesperson K Pattabhi and BJP leader P Nagabhushana’s demanded the Election Commission for an impartial inquiry on the CM attack incident after transferring the present DGP. They said that the inquiry would not be done impartially when the same officials were working in favor of the YSR Congress.
Similarly, there is a discussion among the political circles on the future police boss of Andhra Pradesh. Several names are doing rounds in political circles. The EC would take the decision or not will be known in a matter of week, said a senior official in the government
