Amaravati: The YSR Congress has made plans to announce its manifesto targeting farmers, women and youth. As per the reports, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is likely to make an important announcement at any moment.
The leadership of the YSR Congress had elaborate discussions in this regard for the last several months. The Chief Minister would announce a loan waiver scheme for farmers and DWCRA women in the next public meeting. The two sections form a sizable number of the total voters of the state.
Previously, the loan waiver assurances helped the Congress party especially YS Rajasekhar Reddy to assume power. In the same way, the then opposition president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had also announced a loan waiver scheme for DWCRA women. The statement helped the YSR Congress to come into power in the 2019 elections. The women voters among the downtrodden massively extended support to the YSR Congress party in the election.
Taking into consideration previous experiences, now the YSR Congress once again wants to follow the old formula. One senior leader on condition of anonymity said that the details of the scheme and rules would be revealed on Friday or in the next couple of days. If the announcement is postponed for any reason like the release of the TDP manifesto, the YSR Congress will announce the loan waiver scheme in the next week.
Similarly, the YSR Congress has plans to announce one more scheme for youth. It is apt to recall here that the YSR Congress is facing criticism from youth especially on employment issues. Against this backdrop, the Chief Minister is likely to make a statement to encourage youth to create jobs.
The YSR Congress wants to explain to people in the public meeting how the government fulfilled its Navaratnaalu promise during the last five years at the time of the announcement of the loan waiver scheme to give them confidence about future programs.
