Kurnool: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy likened the upcoming May 13 elections in Andhra Pradesh to the legendary ‘Battle of Kurukshetra’, declaring his readiness to stand alongside the underprivileged to triumph over the affluent.
Addressing a fervent gathering during his ‘Memantha Siddham’ yatra at Thugali village in Kurnool district, Chief Minister Jagan Reddy urged the public to propagate the government’s achievements and initiatives to every household. He set an ambitious target of securing all 175 Assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state, underlining his administration’s commitment to a comprehensive development agenda.
Highlighting the YSR Congress Party’s unwavering support for the marginalized sections, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy emphasized the transformative impact of his government’s policies, particularly in realizing the vision of Grama Swarajyam, a dream cherished by Mahatma Gandhi. He lauded the transparent and corruption-free delivery of welfare schemes through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), facilitated by dedicated volunteers and village secretariats.
“We have revolutionized the education sector by enhancing government schools, introducing English medium education from the 6th grade, and distributing tablets to 8th-grade students,” Chief Minister Jagan remarked, outlining the strides made in ensuring quality education for all.
Taking a swipe at former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, he criticized the unfulfilled promises and emphasized the need to protect the state from such deceptive figures. He urged voters to rally behind the YSRCP to sustain the momentum of progress and upliftment of the underprivileged.
Jagan underscored the government’s commitment to empowering women, citing the allocation of 31 lakh house titles in their names as a testament to this commitment. He rallied women voters to support the YSRCP government, highlighting the transformative impact on the lives of millions of women and children in Andhra Pradesh.
“These elections transcend mere political representation; they determine the future of 2.5 crore women and their children in our state,” Jagan asserted, underscoring the government’s resolve to eradicate educational disparities, combat child marriage, and ensure sustainable livelihoods for women.
