Amaravati: Everyone knows that development and welfare are two eyes of any political party and government. Now the main Opposition TDP and the ruling YSR Congress are competing with each other by showing their welfare schemes to the public. Indeed, the TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu has already been recognised as brand ambassador for development.
TDP had introduced welfare schemes like rice for Rs 2 kg, pancha, dhoti for Rs 100 and pucca houses for poor and middle class people. Chandrababu Naidu also continued as successor to TDP founder NT Rama Rao, but he got an identity for development in the combined state also. Interestingly, he only increased the pension amount from Rs 200 to Rs 1000 and Rs 2000. Now he announced for Rs 4000 after TDP coming to power.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is implementing welfare schemes as it is the only priority instead of development. He introduced his manifesto with nine assurances in YSR Congress party manifesto in the name of Navaratnalu aiming at distributing welfare schemes.
Jagan Mohan Reddy has given utmost priority to poorer sections and their welfare only. The state government is claiming that Rs 2.31 lakh crore has been spent exclusively on the implementation of welfare schemes. TDP state president K Atchennaidu ruled out the government’s claim.
Several schemes like Amma Vodi, Cheyuta, house sites allotment for poorer sections, pension delivery at doorsteps, Nadu-Nedu schools renovation, newly included volunteers system and village secretariats are turned out to be debatable topics in the public.
Now the State government is claiming the schemes would get support from poorer sections in the forthcoming elections. It is only the hope of the leaders of YSR Congress party for their winning chances. Especially the MLAs and MPs who came out from YSR Congress are also pointing out the same point openly.
On the other hand, TDP brass Chandrababu Naidu who is brand ambassador has also introduced several new welfare schemes in the manifesto recently in the name of super six. He said that the TDP would give three gas cylinders to poorer sections, free bus facility to women, Rs 20,000 financial help to farmers every year, Rs 4000 pension hike to old age people from present Rs 3000 and Rs 3000 for unemployed youth stipend.
Now the two parties compete to get the attention of poorer sections. Apart from this, the TDP is adding development point which is very important to any section of people in society. Of course, the TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu made plans for world-class capital Amaravati, Kia Motors along with many industries in various fields. TDP HRD member Chunduri Rajendra Prasad said that the TDP has an additional advantage that it would give more than the YSRCP government what it is delivering. He said that the TDP would create Amaravati as capital and it would give lakhs of jobs, and wealth to the state. A large-scale development would be possible from TDP plans only, he explained.
Meanwhile, the people are also eagerly waiting for which point only welfare or welfare with development would win the forthcoming elections. Interestingly, former MP and senior Congress leader Undavalli Arun Kumar also expressed the same point on this issue.
