Mahashivratri Brahmotsavam is currently being celebrated in Srisailam, and the Mallanna Hill is packed with devotees who have come to visit Swami and Ammavaru. The Ilakailasa hills are echoing with the chants of Shiva’s name, and since dawn, devotees have been flocking to see Ardhanarishwarulu.
The temple queues are long, and people are waiting for kilometers for free darshan. The laddu counters are also crowded with devotees. On the occasion of Shivratri, a prabhotsavam will be held at 5 PM for Swamiammavaru. Nandi Vahanotsavam will be performed for the first couple at 7 PM, followed by Rudrabhishekam at 10 PM. From 10 PM to 12 AM, there will be a crucial Pagalarana ceremony where the vimanagopuram of the temple and the face of the mandap will be decorated. Devotees are coming in large numbers to witness this ceremony. At 12 AM, Kalyanam will be performed for Bhramaramba and Mallikarjunaswamyvaru.
