Amaravati: March 30: TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu highlighted the establishment of Kia Motors in Anantapur under the TDP regime as a symbolic achievement showcasing the development under his government. He emphasized that the drought-stricken Rayalaseema region is now producing 12 lakh cars, which stands as a testimonial to the effective governance of the TDP.

Addressing a gathering in Proddatur as part of the Prajagalam election campaign tour on Saturday, Naidu criticized the current government led by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for its alleged failure to attract industries to the state.

He claimed that industries had left the state due to the policies implemented by the government. Comparing his track record with that of the present administration, Naidu highlighted his efforts in bringing major industries like Kia Motors to the state, contrasting it with what he referred to as the re-foundation approach of the Jagan government, particularly regarding the Kadapa steel plant project.

The TDP leader questioned the lack of new companies investing in Rayalaseema during the last five years, contrasting it with his vision of development, industries, and irrigation for the region. He reiterated his commitment to bringing Krishna and Godavari water to Rayalaseema, emphasizing the progress made by the TDP government in completing 72 per cent of the Polavaram irrigation project to facilitate this goal.

Naidu also criticized the inefficiency of the current government in providing Handri-Neeva water to the Kuppam assembly constituency. He accused the Jagan government of viewing Rayalaseema through the lens of divisive politics rather than focusing on its development.

Furthermore, Naidu raised allegations against Jagan’s party, accusing them of fielding a candidate in the Lok Sabha elections who was allegedly involved in the murder of Y S Vivekananda Reddy. This, according to Naidu, reflects the mindset of the Jagan-led administration.
