Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan has announced his candidacy for the Pithapuram assembly seat. Senani made the official announcement on Thursday, putting an end to the suspense over Pawan’s competition which had been building over the past few days. There were reports that he may contest from Gajuwaka or Bhimavaram, but party sources indicated that Pawan is determined to show victory where he had previously lost. In his announcement, Pawan stated that he is contesting from Pithapuram.

According to sources within the Jana Sena party, despite Pawan Kalyan holding three assembly seats in Bhimavaram, Gajuwaka, and Pithapuram, the party is inclined to have him contest from Pithapuram. This is because the Kapu community, which holds a significant number of votes in Pithapuram, can help him secure a victory. It is believed that if Pawan contests from Pithapuram, he will have a better chance of winning not just this seat but also the Kakinada Rural Constituency and the Kakinada MP seat. The Jana Sena party has already announced Pantam Nanaji as their candidate for the Kakinada Rural Constituency.
