Amaravati: TDP national president and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has shifted his election campaign from Rayalaseema to Konaseema. He started his five-day tour in Konaseema, and will proceed to Krishna, and Guntur districts where the TDP is expected to have good prospects. The TDP president starts at Kothapet, Ramachandrapuram on April 3, Kovvuru, Gopalapuram road shows on April 4, Narsapuram, Palakollu on April 5, Pedakurapadu, Sattenapalli on April 6 and Pamarru and Penamaluru on April 7. He will visit 15 constituencies in his five-day tour and every day will participate in two public meetings beginning at 4 pm and second at 6 pm.

However, the public including the rank and file of TDP are eagerly waiting for clarity on Narsapuram sitting MP Raghu Ramakrishnam Raju (RRR)’s seat denial issue.

Though the BJP did not give the seat to him still, the rumours are doing rounds in political circles about his candidature. As per rumours the NDA will give a seat to him. On the other hand, several controversies are still pending with the TDP in the selection of candidates.

A sizable number of TDP cadre is opposing the candidature of Maddipati Venkata Raju in the Gopalapuram constituency. Now the TDP leadership has the responsibility to set right the issue. Otherwise, it would impact the prospects of the TDP.

Besides, there was confusion in the Palakollu Assembly segment when the leaders of Kapus announced different stands in favour of NDA.

Similarly, the TDP is still struggling in the Pamarru constituency. Senior TDP leader Varla Ramaiah’s son Kumar Raja is a candidate but still, he should improve the chances. The cadre is working hard to win the seat this time and hopes are high about the tour of Chandrababu Naidu.

Penamaluru is in a comfortable position but YSR Congress candidate Jogi Ramesh is moving aggressively. Already the media reports he offered gifts to downtrodden people before the commencement of the election code. On the other hand, the voters of Sattenaplli and Pedakurapadu constituencies which are close to Amaravati’s capital location this time are expected to move positively for NDA candidates. However, internal rivalry and candidate replacement are new challenges to TDP. The TDP boss started his tour this time from Konaseema and will be ending in Amaravati region where the area is proposed for capital.
