Amaravati: Former IAS officers LV Subramanyam, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar, former mayor of Vijayawada city Dr Jandayala Shankar, Citizens for Democracy (CFD) secretary V Lakshmana Reddy asked the State government to make proper arrangements for pension distribution at every doorstep. They released a video on Saturday about the recent controversy on pension delivery and volunteers issue, they said that the Chief Secretary has a responsibility to deliver the pensions at the doorsteps. It may be noted that the Election Commission of India (ECI) ordered following complaint made by CFD against the money distribution of volunteers for any scheme of government. Later, the issue took a turn into a political controversy in the state. Now the CFD leaders including the two senior bureaucrats said that the pension should be distributed at every doorstep as per the orders of ECI. They asked the Chief Secretary how the State government failed to pay pension at the doorstep. The Chief Secretary has responsibility for the incident. The pension holders faced hardships when the government failed to pay pension at the doorsteps. They asked the government to pay the pension properly at doorsteps for next month also. They pointed out that the Court also questioned the States which are also distributing the welfare schemes money without volunteers.
They wondered how the State government would distribute Rs 2000 crore for every month when one political party claims the volunteers are their party men. They criticised the YSR Congress and Telugu Desam for encouraging the volunteer system. They said that no State in the country maintains a volunteer system.
