Amaravati: March 19: Nara Lokesh, general secretary of TDP and future leader of the party is again getting ready to contest from the same Assembly segment Mangalagiri where he faced a jolt in the first attempt in his political career. Now he is confident about his prospects based on the ground-level feedback.
With the election is round the corner now, he has shifted focus on his constituency after his hectic party activities by conducting frequent interactions with different walks of life. He started breakfast meetings with people of various apartment communities. It is a good concept and he is giving all possible assurances to solve the grievances of residents. They are also happy with confidence due to him being one of the top leaders in TDP and the people of the area will have a chance to get good support for solving their problems once TDP comes to power. Recently he started doorstep visits some days ago meeting with neutral people. He met several prominent people from all communities. The people of various sections are also eagerly waiting for development and construction of the capital city of Amaravati. Right from a small-tea stall owner to a taxi operator they all enjoyed positive profits. Now they are experiencing the difference after the work on Amaravati capital halted.
Moreover, the majority of people of Mangalagiri faced losses in many aspects. The farmer community lost the value of their lands. Now they are again getting some demand after a long time when the TDP has received positive hope for future winning chances. The farmer community including some marginal farmers are expecting good price for their property.
Even the majority of landless poor and downtrodden sections also got good quotation for their residential plots and small size houses. They had an opportunity to get loans from banks. Apart from this, the halted construction activity is visible from the national highway stretch from Vijayawada to Guntur. Sizable number of workers lost their jobs, especially the construction sector faced a challenging situation.
The three dominant communities including Kamma, Reddy and Kapu are also ready to extend full support to Lokesh this time. Several top leaders have already joined hands with Lokesh and some others are ready to walk with him. Some prominent leaders in Tadepalli, Duggirala and Mangalagiri mandals left YSR Congress and joined TDP.
Similarly, the BCs and one section of SCs are still extending support to TDP as traditional supporters. Nara Lokesh is also directly reaching poor people with various service activities including gifts and financial help for marriages and other family needs for the last five years. Likewise, he started providing employment and free training to young graduates. He designed a novel scheme for changing the fate of weavers’ tie-up with TATA Taneria. The organisation will purchase weavers’ produce without mediators and payment risks. He has also made plans to make Mangalagiri a jewellery hub like Surat in Gujarat. Though he focused on all walks of life there is a need to meet downtrodden sections and interact with senior party leaders, says one party leader
