New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) revealed the details of electoral bonds data following a Supreme Court order. The ECI collected the data officially from the State Bank of India (SBI) and released the information as per the directions of the Supreme Court.

Hyderabad-based Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited is in the second position in the list.  As per the data, these are in the top ten donors on the list. The details  

Top 10 donors to political parties

1. Future Gaming and Hotel Services PR – ₹ 1,368 crore

2.Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited – ₹ 966 crore

3. Qwik Supply Chain Pvt Limited – ₹ 410 crore

4. Vedanta Limited – ₹ 400 crore

5. Haldia Energy Limited – ₹ 377 crore

6. Bharti Group – ₹ 247 crore

7.Essel Mining & Industries Limited – ₹ 224 crore

8. Western UP Power Transmission Company Limited – ₹ 220 crore

9. Keventer Food Park Infra Limited – ₹ 195 crore

10.     Madanlal Limited – ₹ 185 crore

State Bank of India (SBI) revealed the data pertains to electoral bonds purchased and redeemed between April 12, 2019 and February 15, 2024. A total of 22,217 bonds were bought during this period, SBI had told the Supreme Court.

The Bharatiya Janata Party, Trinamool Congress, and the Congress are among the top three political parties that benefited from the electoral bonds, according to data uploaded by the Election Commission on its website on Thursday. The data on electoral bonds was made public after the State Bank of India, following the Supreme Court’s order, submitted it to the election body.

According to the data, the BJP received funding of over ₹6,061 crore via electoral bonds, while the TMC got ₹1,610 crore. The Congress received ₹1,422 crore through those bonds.
