* TET exam postponed

The Capital News

Amaravati: The Election Commission has started taking action against the police officers and volunteers who failed their duties and are facing allegations. As part of it, the EC has issued orders to three IPS officers to attend before them by Thursday evening to explain how they failed in their duties in connection with the political violence.

The SPs of Prakasam, Palnadu, and Nandyala–Parameshwar Reddy, Ravishankar Reddy and K Raghuveer Reddy–were ordered to attend before the EC and give an explanation of the violence of Giddalur, Allagadda and Macherla incidents. As per the directions, the officers should give their explanations by Thursday evening. It may be noted that TDP activists were murdered in the incidents and one leader’s car was damaged by the YSR Congress party activists. Already the TDP has lodged a complaint against the three IPS officers holding them responsible for the incidents. Against this backdrop, the EC has asked the officials about their explanation.

Meanwhile, Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena said that security lapses in the Prime Minister’s meeting are under review by the Union Home Ministry. However, the EC has suspended 40 volunteers from duties. The EC has taken action against the six VROs and contract employees who are involved in political activities in favor of the YSR Congress. The EC has further directed the Education Department to postpone the TET exam which is as per schedule to be held from March 30 for 6100 DSC posts. They would take further clarification from the Election Commission of India.

Mukesh Kumar Meena also said that the EC would take action on the complaints which can be uploaded in the C-Vigil App by the public. ends
