Vijayawada, March 28: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, highlighting the extensive welfare measures aimed at women under his government, questioned the track record of former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu in delivering similar benefits despite his 14 years of experience in office.
Speaking at a gathering in Erraguntla village, Nandyal district, as part of the Siddam election campaign, Jagan Mohan Reddy emphasised his administration’s direct benefit transfer (DBT) system that has been depositing money into the accounts of women for the past 58 months, aiming at bringing smiles to their faces. He underscored the government’s commitment to implementing welfare schemes transparently, devoid of any corrupt practices. “We prioritised welfare and development without any bias towards political affiliations or caste. Our focus is solely on delivering benefits to all eligible candidates,” stated Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Drawing comparisons with past administrations, Jagan pointed out that despite having more experience and age as Chief Minister, previous leaders did not institute such extensive welfare measures. Directly addressing Chandrababu Naidu, Jagan questioned why similar welfare initiatives were not undertaken during Naidu’s tenure.
The Chief Minister criticised Naidu’s governance, asserting that it failed to bring about significant changes in people’s lives. He urged the electorate to support the YSRCP in the upcoming elections to ensure the continuity of welfare programs.
Jagan also highlighted the developmental strides made in villages, schools, and government hospitals during the five-year rule of the YSRCP government. He emphasised the importance of continuing these positive changes that have brought happiness to people’s lives.
