Amaravati, March 10: The election alliance with TDP has given a fresh lease of life for political future to some senior leaders of the BJP. Actually, some BJP leaders have a strong track record in politics serving various positions. However, uncertainty loomed large on their future when the BJP lost its percentage of votes in the last several years in Andhra Pradesh.
In the last general elections, when the BJP contested alone without the alliance of the TDP it could not win even a single seat. Moreover, it had got only 0.84 per cent less than one per cent of votes. The fate of AP BJP was a point of discussion for the past some time.
Several prominent BJP leaders have also lost confidence about their political future. Notably, the BJP lost public support since it rejected the special category status for Andhra Pradesh. Moreover, one section of people believed that the BJP was behind every step of the YSRCP government.
However, the BJP leaders have got an opportunity to build their political future again with the support of TDP and Jana Sena. Already the BJP had an election alliance with the Jana Sena for some time but the alliance did not make any impact in the recent elections in the state. Now the BJP leaders are making plans to contest in the elections in a jubilant mood after finalising the election alliance with the TDP.
Several names of BJP leaders are doing rounds in the political circles to contest from Andhra Pradesh. As per reports, former Union Minister and AP BJP president D Purandeeshwari (Rajamundry Lok Sabha), former Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy (Rajampet Lok Sabha), K Geeta (Araku Lok Sabha), Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju or U Shyamala Devi (Narsapuram Lok Sabha), daughter-in-law of Ratna Prabha (Tirupathi Lok Sabha), Satyakumar (Hindupur Lok Sabha), Y Sujana Chowdary or V Vishnukumar Raju (Vizag Assembly), Dr Kamineni Srinivas (Kaikaluru Assembly), Varadapuram Suri (Dharmavaram), K Adinarayana Reddy (Jammmalamadugu), Ayyaji Vema, S Veeraju are aspirants in the BJP.
