The opposition party BRS in Telangana has announced its candidate for the Warangal (SC) Lok Sabha constituency. Marepalli Sudhir Kumar, who is currently the Chairman of Hanumakonda Zilla Parishad and has been a BRS member since 2001, has been selected as the candidate. BRS President and former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao finalized the decision after consultations with party leaders. Earlier, BRS had announced Kadiam Kavya, the daughter of former deputy chief minister and senior BRS MLA Kadiam Srihari, as its candidate. However, both Srihari and Kavya recently left BRS to join the ruling Congress. Kavya is now contesting the Lok Sabha election on a Congress ticket. With Sudhir Kumar’s candidature, the BRS has now named candidates for all 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana. The polling for the parliament election in Telangana is scheduled for May 13th.
