Dharmavaram: May 5: Union Home Minister Amit Shah vowed that the Polavaram irrigation project, described as the lifeline of Andhra Pradesh, would see completion under the NDA alliance if voted to power in the ongoing state elections. He attributed the project’s delay to alleged corruption within the YSRCP government.
Shah’s visit to Andhra Pradesh was framed within the context of strengthening the BJP, TDP, and Jana Sena alliance’s stance against corruption, crime, mafia activities, and religious conversions in the state. He emphasised the alliance’s mission to combat what they perceive as a reign of goons, criminals, widespread corruption, and the influence of the sand mafia. Additionally, Shah expressed the alliance’s determination to restore Amravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh.
In his address, Shah also highlighted the NDA’s commitment to safeguard the Telugu language and preserve the sanctity of the Tirumala Tirupati shrine. He remarked on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s electoral successes, noting his confidence in securing over 400 seats after the first two phases of the general elections.
Turning his focus to chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), Shah launched a scathing attack, accusing them of fostering corruption, sand and land mafias, and crime in Andhra Pradesh. He asserted that the country had united in favor of making Modi the Prime Minister for a third term, dismissing other leaders from the INDIA bloc, including Rahul Gandhi, as unfit to lead the nation.
He said that the NDA alliance would come to power in the present polls. He asked the public to give their support for Modi and Chandrababu Naidu combination as it would develop the State. He also requested the public to elect Satya Kumar who was close to him. Former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was also present.
