“Singapore-India Ties Set to Soar SICCI: SICCI’s Confidence in Lawrence Wong’s Leadership”

The Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) has expressed confidence that the ties between Singapore and India will continue to strengthen under the leadership of Singapore’s incoming Prime Minister, Lawrence Wong.

Wong, who will be sworn in on May 15, co-chaired the India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable and has set the tone for long-term ties between the two countries. SICCI is an important partner of the Singapore government in developing bilateral ties with India.

The chamber has been instrumental in fine-tuning the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) before the two countries signed the pact in June 2005.

SICCI has also organised numerous business missions in different states of India and has strengthened its ties with leading business associations in India like the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
