Copper prices rose by 0.85 percent to Rs 899.50 per kilogram in the futures market on Thursday due to increased spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for delivery in May were up by Rs 14.90 or 0.85 percent at Rs 899.50 per kg, with a business turnover of 5,579 lots. Analysts attributed the price increase to the higher bets placed by participants.
