On Thursday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused the Modi government of taking away reservation from Dalits, tribals and backward classes by blindly implementing privatization.
He claimed that the BJP government is eliminating government jobs through blind privatization, which is resulting in the loss of 6 lakh permanent jobs from the public sector alone.
He said that these were the very posts which would have given the benefit of reservation. Gandhi alleged that the Modi model of privatization is a plunder of the country’s resources, through which the reservation of the deprived is being snatched away.
He added that the Congress guarantees that it will strengthen the public sector enterprises and open doors for employment for every section of society by filling 30 lakh vacant government posts.
In 2013, the public sector had 14 lakh permanent posts, which by 2023 stood at 8.4 lakh.
The Congress leader further claimed that there is no count of the jobs that are being eliminated through the back door in institutions such as railways by giving government work on contract. Gandhi criticized Modi’s campaign to remove reservation, stating that the mantra is “na rahega baans, na bajegi bansuri,” which means there will be neither government jobs nor any reservation available.
