The Punjab Police has successfully busted an international drug racket that was operating across five countries, including Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, Pakistan, and Canada. T

his is a significant achievement, as the authorities have managed to make three arrests and seized 48 kg of heroin, one of the biggest seizures of narcotics in the state.

The accused trio also had 21 lakh cash which was confiscated. Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav confirmed that this was the largest heroin seizure of 2024, and that the Commissionerate Police Jalandhar had played a crucial role in busting this international drug syndicate and arresting three operatives involved in the inter-state drug smuggling.

In addition to the seized drugs, a total of 21 lakh rupees in cash, a cash counting machine, and three high-end vehicles were confiscated from the accused.

The police have registered a case under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, and are currently conducting further investigations to demolish the drug network completely.

It is important to note that such criminal activities will not be tolerated, and the authorities will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of the citizens.
