Kalki’s 2898 movie created a new record in Indian cinema by overcoming the RRR’s collection in the Indian movie market. According to reports, Kalki’s Hindi version set a new record by earning Rs 275.9 crore in four weeks, making the Prabhas starrer the third highest-grossing South Indian film in the Hindi market. It surpassed RRR’s Rs 272 crore to achieve the feat,
Besides, the Nag Ashwin directorial is now running at Rs 616.95 crore net in India and aims to go past ‘Jawan’ which collected Rs 640.25 crore in its lifetime run at the ticket window. Once it surpasses the Shah Rukh Khan starrer, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ will become the fourth highest-grossing picture of all time at the domestic box office.
Already Vyjayanthi movies announced the movie entered the Rs 1000 crore club worldwide gross collection. As per the reports, the picture stands at 7th place in the 10 highest-grossing movies in the country and it may surpass movies like Pathan and Jawan movies. Rajamouli’s RRR movies stood at 4th place. As per the collection records, Pathan collected Rs 1050 crore, Jawan movie collected Rs 1148 crore standing as the top-five and sixth collection grosses in Indian cinema history.
However, Rajamouli’s two movies “Baahubali 2 The Conclusion” collected Rs1810 crore and RRR collected Rs 1387 crore as the second and third highest grossers respectively. Aamir Khan’s Dangal movie has continued to lead at first place after its release in 2016 with an Rs 2023 crore collection.
