The Governor of Maharashtra, Ramesh Bais, has described the state as an economic powerhouse that plays a vital role in India’s development.
Speaking at the Maharashtra Foundation Day event, he stated that the state is leading in the implementation of cyber security and providing cyber services to businesses and individuals.
Maharashtra’s strength lies in its hard-working, enterprising and progressive population, and it is a significant centre for industrial manufacturing, finance and service sectors.
The state’s geographic location is conducive to industrial development, making it an attractive hub for investment, both domestic and foreign.
Governor Bais also highlighted the significance of cities like Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, Kolhapur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and Solapur in various sectors.
Mumbai is a hub for corporate houses, financial institutions, banks, and is home to India’s biggest share market and film industry.
It is also an important port, facilitating international trade. Maharashtra is one of the leading states in agriculture, industrial products, manufacturing, trade, and transportation.
It has a rich cultural heritage and a legacy of the Warkari sect and saints. The state’s high-quality universities and vocational training institutes attract students, researchers, and scholars from around the world. Maharashtra’s biodiversity is rich with hill ranges, forests, forts, river basins, and plateaus, as well as sanctuaries like Tadoba, Melghat, and Pench.
