Amaravati: As many as 3300 land owners in Amaravati who gave their land for capital construction under the land pooling scheme are facing difficulties as the Capital Regional Development Authority (CRDA) allotted plots are government lands. These lands are not transferable to the owners. Though the landowners have emergency need to sell their lands it is not possible due to lapses in the land allotment process by CRDA.
The farmers are accusing the CRDA of evading responsibility and victims are seeking assistance from authorities.
As per the information, farmers who gave their patta lands to CRDA under the land pooling scheme are facing difficulties as the allotted plots are government lands and not yet transferred to the CRDA. Over 3300 farmers are affected by this issue, with an additional 1000 impacted by land acquisition discrepancies.
Many of these farmers, mostly elderly, are in an urgent need to sell their plots for financial and health reasons. Despite numerous petitions, the CRDA has not taken action to resolve the situation. The situation has been described as a clear case of breach of trust by the CRDA, a land owner explained.
Allotting government land without proper transfer to the Capital Regional Development Authority of Amaravati is a glaring mistake. Additionally, allocating plots in un-acquired land is another error. The government has withdrawn the land acquisition notification. In the other case, registration records identify the plots as government property. Victims allege that CRDA officials are evading responsibility, putting the blame on the government.
The affected farmers, who participated in the land pooling scheme, are seeking assistance. The land owners said that the CRDA Commissioner Vivek Yadav and Special Collector Raja Kumari did not extend aid to the victims, the land owners lamented.
